Bay East Pet of The Month

The Kubiak Family

The Kubiak Family

4/2010

Quincy and Lily both love the opportunity to show off so we couldn’t turn this down…

Quincy came into our lives at just 5 weeks of age with the intention of getting him a companion in the future.  Lily joined our family 1 year later.  Now, Quincy is 3 years old and has had a few lumps that have made us very nervous and had to be removed.  Lily’s nickname is “the tank” because she seems to be impervious to sickness or injury despite the tongue that hangs out the side of her mouth at all times.  It picks up anything it comes in contact with but that doesn’t seem to stop us from letting her try to kiss our faces (she rarely ever hits her target).  Quincy and Lily are inseparable and adore one another.  They frequently lay on top of each other.  Quincy is obsessed with soccer balls and Lily is obsessed with trying to catch any of our 3 cats, Douglas, Henry or Stanley.  And now, with an 11 month old running the house, they are the most tolerate and patient dogs any one could ever ask for.  One can only imagine how many times Lily’s tongue has been grabbed and pulled.  At only 2 and 3 years old, we hope to enjoy many more years with them.

Before Quincy and Lily, we had an Airedale named Chauncy.  Chauncy came to Bay East when he was very sick.  Dr. Skaletski determined that he had Lymphoma of the GI tract.  He had to endure lots of poking, testing, and even had a feeding tube for about a month.  We started Chemotherapy right away, and, surprisingly, he was back to his old crazy self and, thanks to Dr. Skaletski and the very special “girls” at Bay East, we were able to enjoy Chauncy for another 5 great months.  We have a very special loyalty to Bay East and we love how much they appreciate our animals despite their abundance of energy.

Thank you so much!
