"Sadie"

Sadie is a seven month old Boxer mix. She is such a sweetheart and we couldn’t have asked for a better puppy. She is lovable and kisses everyone she meets! She bounces off the walls for a little while, like all puppies, but then she cuddles up right next to us and falls asleep. She ALWAYS has to be touching us!
About a month ago Sadie had a very rare accident. She jumped off of the lower end of the couch and broke her elbow. We rushed her in to Dr. Vukich who graciously referred us to the Animal Referral Center in Appleton, WI. Sadie underwent surgery to reconstruct her y-fractured elbow. After two and a half days in Appleton, she came home with us in good spirits. Two days later, unfortunately, we rushed her back down for an emergency surgery. She ended up overusing her arm while in her crate when we were at work. In turn, one of the pins wiggled its way up her arm and was almost poking out of her shoulder. After yet another two days in Appleton, and another full reconstruction of her elbow, we were able to take her home with her arm in a cute little cast.
Sadie had the wonderful opportunity to spend three whole weeks with the Bay East staff as they “puppy-sat” her during the work day. We are now four weeks into the rehabilitation and Sadie is doing great. We can not wait until we can take her for long walks again!
