Dude Kitty

Dude Kitty was a very important family member of Bay East Animal Hospital
and he touched many lives in the time he lived here. In March of 1999,
Dude came to the hospital for evaluation of a broken right rear leg. He
was a stray at the Bay Area Humane Society at the time. Due to his gentle
demeanor and endearing personality, we ended up adopting him and fixing
his leg. Dude was well known by all our clients, as he loved to sit up in
the reception area and welcome patients and clients. Little known to most
of the people entering the building, Dude was a chowhound and was looking
for any handout he could get. It was not uncommon to catch Dude lying
next to an animal recovering from anesthesia or "talking" to a cat that
was stressed out during an exam or diagnostic procedure. He also was a
therapy cat for the patients at the Cerebral Palsey center. There are no
words to accurately describe the love he radiated towards other animals
and people. He knew how to bring peace to any creature that needed him.
Unfortunately, we lost our Dude during an accident in April 2003. To all
those who knew him, he will live on in our hearts and memories always. We
love you big guy!
